Although the trend toward using in mold labeling and shrink label is growing in Iran, still a considerable number of products launched to the market are armed with self adhesive labels. Label printers and converters have focused on this popular labeling technology. Based on figures provided by Iran's Custom Administration more than 8000 tons of self adhesive labels is produced each year in Iran and more than 1600 tons are also imported annually. More than 1.2 million square meters of label stock is also imported annually and 800000 square meters are produced locally. Due to high import tariffs there is a shortage of pharma papers in Iran. This has led to a production of poor pharmaceutics labels in Iran. This problem requires the serious attention of government. In our special report we have shed light to some of the major problems that label printers and converters are facing in Iran and we tried to find some solutions.
